I never mentioned that Hamwich died in September, did I? We knew it was almost time. At some point over the summer, almost overnight, it seemed, our sprightly hamster was replaced by an elderly, white-haired hamster. But she was 2 and this was not unexpected.
We started looking at Petfinder for a new hamster when we got back from the beach. We adopted a fuzzy little golden hamster from the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society last week. Apparently, there is a family that brings in several litters of hamsters to the shelter per year. Several. Per year. Look, I am not a genius, but it is pretty easy to keep hamsters from breeding. Keep the hamsters in separate cages. The end! Look at me! I'm a genius! Someone alert the Nobel Prize committee!
ANYWAY.

Now, we have a problem.

We have had this hamster for a week and she still does not have a name.

We have been referring to her as The Hamster (which sounds like it should have a TM after it).
For heaven's sake, please, help us name The Hamster (TM). We enjoy wacky names (my favorite of all our hamster's names was "Tweedles." My sister once named one of our hamsters "Pickles.") She is fuzzy and reminds me a bit of an Ewok, but all the Ewok names that I have been able to find are boy names.
The shelter had her listed as "Cinco" in their database (the entire litter was named after Spanish numbers), but I think you guys can do better than that. Internets, name that hamster!

I have a homemade puppet that I can't use at school anymore b/c whe I put her on my hand she becomes my inappropriate alter ego. (I named her pre-Liza Jane just for the record) Her name is Lizzydoodle. You can share that name with your hamster if it suits her but Beware.
Jemima.
I am slightly regretting not naming Scree (the cat), Luxury Yacht. Having named his sister Helicopter I think it might have been nice to have a pair.
However, changing his name now seems silly so the name is available and up for grabs if you're interested..
RIP Hamwich.
The silliest word that comes to mind right now is sesquipedalian.
Oh she's precious!! I've always wanted to have a tiny pet and name it Pockets ;)
I vote for Smidgen.
Sorry to hear about Hamwich, poor sweetie.
For whatever reason, when I first saw the picture, I thought Scarlett (because she was relying on the kindness of strangers before you got her); but that's not really too goofy.
Maybe Pizzle?
I'm (very) late to the party, so I'll skip offering a name. But now I'm curious about the progress of A Sweater for Hamwich!
@DPUTiger - A Sweater for Hamwich TB has been stuck in Idaho and has not moved in over a year now. I have emailed the person who has it, and they replied back that they would move it along soon but they never have. This was back in the July/August time frame that a few email's were exchanged.
